Sr. RosemaryIMPORTNAT UPDATE: Construction Begins on the Radiology Addition at Aber Hospital
March 28, 2012
We are pleased to inform our donors and interested parties that we are to begin construction of the Radiology addition at Aber Hospital in Lira Uganda. We have secured the necessary funds to complete the proposed project.
The groundbreaking will begin in April 2012 with Sister Rosemary Nassuuna, a supervisor at Aber Hospital will help oversee the project. Father/Doctor Sam Okori is now in Northern Uganda practicing medicine as well as the priesthood and will be checking in on the project. We have provided two pictures of the land and future site of the new Aber radiology facility. We will keep you apprised of the progress of the project as we proceed. We estimate the cost of the building at $40,000 US. We thank you for your patience and generous donations and interest over the past few years in our fundraising efforts. We look forward to your continued financial support for future projects, as we continue with our goal to find ways to help our fellow man in Northern Uganda achieve better health in the future.
On behalf of our Board of directors, with appreciation and best regards,
Kevin E. Hunt, M.D.

Friendship Fosters Medical Project in Uganda by Heidi Splete
Dr. Kevin E. Hunt was taking pre-med classes at Loyola University in Chicago when he met Father Samuel Okori, who was serving as a priest in Dr. Hunt's parish. The two men struck up a friendship, and Father Okori invited Dr. Hunt to travel with him to the Lira Diocese in Uganda, to assess medical facilities and treat medically underserved people.
